Sorrentino ’54 Gymnasium. Sports - May 10 LVC Students Publish Green Blotter Literary Magazine students produced and contributed to the annual publishing of the Green Blotter Literary Magazine which features poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and art submitted by undergraduate student writers everywhere. The magazine’s mission is to provide a much-needed platform for undergraduate creative writers and artists and foster outstanding work in each genre we publish. Drama, Artistic, or Musical Achievement - 33m Athletic Training Students Study in Ireland athletic training students traveled to Dublin, Ireland, where they visited Dublin City University and attended lectures with Irish athletic therapy students. Study Abroad - 34m LVC Physical Therapy Students Present Research Dr. Andrew Milosz, Clinical Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, attended the Anatomy Connected Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in March with two of his student researchers. Physical Therapy majors Avery Neipert ’22, D’24 and Sarah Ortt ’22, D’24 presented a poster, "Graphical Fundamentals of Anatomy: Teaching Key Concepts." Research / Grant - May 9 Celebrates Kente-Intercultural Graduation celebrated its annual Kente-Intercultural Graduation in April. Achievement (Other) - May 7 Announces Enrolled Students is excited to welcome new students to campus for the Fall 2024 semester. Enrollment - May 6 Recognizes Student Leadership Award Winners honored students for their demonstrated leadership during the past academic year. Leadership - May 2 Students Receive Gold Community Service Award Winners recognized its Gold Community Service Award recipients, The Gold Award recognizes students who have recorded at least 100 community service hours and taken part in an approved service trip or recorded at least 250 total hours, with 100 or more served in the community. Accepted - Apr 9 LVC Music Students Attend Jazz Education Network Annual Conference Seven students attended the Jazz Education Network Annual Conference in New Orleans. The students attended workshops, clinics, and concerts, and performed in the JENerations Jazz Festival. Business/professional - Jan 18 Students Achieve Positive Scores on Putnam Exam Seven Mathematical Sciences students achieved positive scores on the Putnam Exam, the preeminent math competition at the college level for students in North America. Nearly 4,000 students from 470 institutions participated and had a median score of 10 and an average of 13. Jack Putnam and Nick Treadwell led the group with scores of 13. Austin Wright, Turner Hannon, Bryn Deibel, Sam Lawler, and Anna Moore also achieved positive scores. Student Competition - Apr 2 Celebrates December 2023 Graduates is recognizing nearly 80 students who graduated in December 2023. The College is proud to celebrate the academic achievements of these students. Graduation - Jan 4 Announces Fall 2023 Dean’s List Honorees congratulates nearly 900 students named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2023 semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Dean’s List - Jan 3 Announces 2023-24 Student Government Members ’s Student Government is tasked with fostering understanding, communication, and cooperation among students, faculty, and administrators. Student Government - 2023 Sep 26 Selects Resident Assistants selected 46 resident assistants (RA) for the 2023-24 academic year. An RA oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall, serving as a resource for residential students and providing a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. Residence Life - 2023 Sep 13 LVC Celebrates Legacy Graduates of the Class of 2022 celebrated 19 legacy graduates who received their degrees during the 153rd Commencement on Saturday, May 14. Legacy graduates have at least one parent who had previously graduated from the College. Alumni - 2022 May 31 Welcomes New Legacy Students welcomed more than 30 legacy students to campus as part of the nearly 500 new students arriving to campus this fall. Legacy students - children of graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.
